Depends on how much your make... Here is what i found.
How Mississippi State income tax rates are structured The tax table below will show in detail the Mississippi state income tax rates by income tax bracket(s). There are 3 income tax brackets for Mississippi. If your income range is between $0 and $5,000, your tax rate on every dollar of income earned is 3%.
If your income range is between $5,001 and $10,000, your tax rate on every dollar of income earned is 4%.
If your income range is $10,001 and over, your tax rate on every dollar of income earned is 5%.

This obviously is from each check. Hope this helps.

Let me know if you need information, I know two FedEx guys that are seriously looking at building out there already. FYI as soon as the highway comes out there they are moving the St. Jude Tournament to Spring Creek.
PM me with more info. I am curious how you save 30K by building on your own.............

Who is building yours?

I believe he means saving the 6% commission on $500,000 by not using a real estate agent. 500,000 x .06 = 30,000

Eric Tucker is our builder. You can locate which lots he owns, the other builders may work the same way. Call the builder directly, not through the real estate agent. My wife found the location and picked the lot out, I called the builder. No reason to pay an agent when you find it yourself and have it built. The value of the homes are surely to go up once they finish the first phase and move on to the other two. Most Boyle developments are that way.

Just took a drive around and came across Mud Island. Looked like a pretty cool area and alot of homes around 250K. Anyone live there now? Are there any down sides? It did look like a hike to get to a grocery store and a little unnerving driving downtown to get to the highway but all in all looked like a very safe area for my wife to walk the dogs and such.

They have had some problems with termites on Mud Island, but it is a pretty area, and seems safe enough. Some of the newer construction on the northern end seems to be on the low end quality wise.
