Although I do agree that their is some entitlement mentality out there, which is not ok, there are also many young professionals who worry everyday about how they are going to provide, as well as survive in retirement. The greed that is shown by some of you "old farts" astonishes me. 40 years to save for retirement, pensions, and SS, during some of the best years this country has ever seen isn't enough for them.
I do not feel I'm entitled to anything except for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I want the chance to bust my ***, so that I can prepare for the future. Unfortunately, the baby boomer generation HAS fallen short helping to prepare this country for their childrens' future. I would never in a million years think of leaving obscene amounts of debt for my children to pay off. I'd rather be responsible by living within my means. But, you know the saying . . . You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
People should not look for sympathy from those who have watched their career stall at a go-nowhere regional because of age 65.
In addition, many of those who benefitted from age 65 are from the same group who have been selling out scope by the bucket load over the last decade.
Nice legacy to leave!
