Here is a good comparison though. If you liked the action, reality -vs- Hollywoodisms of 'Blackhawk Down' and 'We Were Soldiers' - then you will enjoy 'Act of Valor'. I plan to add it to my collection of military movies when available, and there aren't many aviation related movies (at least of recent vintage) that I care to watch more than once if I can make it through at all. These comments about 'Red Tails' in the posts above certainly aren't instilling in me any great desire to go out and even pay the matinee price of admission; but I could have guessed that from the previews

I will agree that the made for HBO movie was well done though and I enjoyed it when I first saw it some time ago.

Looked up the trailer after I initially posted. 'Act of Valor' looks good.
I think it's awesome you're allowed to watch something else besides 'Great Santini' now that you've retired.
