And whoever made the entitlement comment, I think it is ridiculous that you feel that you are entitled to higher pass benefits than someone who has given 25+ years of service.

After your passes are used, you go after active employees as you now have all the time in the world (until 68, that is) to fly the next day or the next day, etc. Heck, retirees in any other industry don't stop flying because they can't fly for free. You can also buy tickets, just like them. You'll have plenty of $$$ to do so, won't stress about whether or not you get on and earn valuable United miles you can use toward free travel and upgrades.
