First, you have to decide what you are going to use the rifle for, if you are just paper punching a 100 yard zero is fine, and you can get the come ups from your ballistics calculator.
If you want to use the rifle in the field, you are going to need to zero for longer range to optimize your ability to hit in a dynamic situation where you may not have time to range the target.

For normal hunting use, a .308 works well sighted three inches high at 100 yards, try that and see what your program gives you.
