If they can cover the flying while it is in transition you would think they would just continue to cover the flying that way. Here's an idea, United should by some 100 seaters and have United pilots fly them.
Good luck with that, they just dumped all there 737-500's... They are well on the same path as Delta. Get rid of anything not at least transcon. Outsource everything below to about 70 seats, dump the cities that can't support at least that.
