In this manipulated compensation profession, exactly, although individual behavior
is still critical to ensure alignment of the group to maximize its bargaining position.
You can bet that if doctors, lawyers and yes, management executives
had to go back to first year grad. school pay when leaving their current employer,
because the employers were in collusion to force it to happen profession wide,
there would be significant lawsuits and battles over changing the behavior.
But here we are, with some still confused that this is a collective process in our profession.
The JRM people are a sad example.
The fact that some brag openly about it is disgusting, besides being detrimental to the unity and force of the pilot group.
