Makes life very hard to plan if you are an AirTran pilot. This decision essentially invalidates the transition bid previously awarded to determine where an AirTran pilot will end up on the SWA side of the partition. Unfortunately, all the messages from SWA leadership today forgot to mention this little fact...a big mistake if you really care about your people. Nice. Now there are 1600 pilots who have no clue when they are going to transition and where they are going to be based. Remember the ATL and TPA base options were for the 717's only. Will every AirTran pilot end up commuting????? It's a real possibility. Will a new transition bid be held? Hope so. Will seniority be honored in the bid? History doesn't bode well. When will AirTran pilots be off the B scale? Hmmmm. Not feeling the LUV today.
