DISCLAIMER: Mesa is doo-doo...run away as fast as you can and don't ever think about them again.

With that being said...Aircraft assignments to new hires are sometimes done with no regard for seniority to satisfy the desires of the company (this is the case at mesa). Domicile assignments however are always done by seniority. When I was at mesa BNA was very senior. Commuting to CLT, IAD, ORD or even MCO might not be too bad, you would have to look at how many daily flights are available. There is also a small dash 8 base in New England or New York. Note: Since mesa gets SIGNIFICANTLY fewer days off than other jet regionals, commuting would probably not be good any way you slice it.
