Default Domecile Question

Ok say you live in Nasville (BNA), and you just got hired to MESA. Well...one of MESA's domeciles is BNA (yay). Is there any reason to think that you could get a job out of that Domecile, or would that be a bidding thing through senoirity? And say you got based out of ATL or something, would it be a HUGE deal to live in Nashville and commute until you could bid on a BNA Base, or would communting just be terrible QOL from that distance

DISCLAIMER: Mesa is doo-doo...run away as fast as you can and don't ever think about them again.

With that being said...Aircraft assignments to new hires are sometimes done with no regard for seniority to satisfy the desires of the company (this is the case at mesa). Domicile assignments however are always done by seniority. When I was at mesa BNA was very senior. Commuting to CLT, IAD, ORD or even MCO might not be too bad, you would have to look at how many daily flights are available. There is also a small dash 8 base in New England or New York. Note: Since mesa gets SIGNIFICANTLY fewer days off than other jet regionals, commuting would probably not be good any way you slice it.

Dont go there. Imagine yourself in your shiney new Mesa uniform going to Mickie D's in the terminal to get an egg sandwich. It will not feel nice knowing that the girl taking your order makes more money than you, has better benefits, and doesn't half to sleep in airplanes cause the companies to cheap to by you a hotel room.

Commuting sucks no matter how you slice it. It really sucks if you're at Mesa, as do a lot of other things from what I understand.

SAAB - life would only be better if you were in toronto. the beer is like moonshine here. God bless the exchange rate!
