Bar, how do you feel about the 1500 hour requirement? The way I read your opinions on this stuff it seems like you feel like getting hired at a DCI carrier and "flying Delta passengers" is the same as being a Delta pilot.
I'm not putting ACL in this category, just trying to grasp the logical upshot of your argument. Should the 250 hour guys right out of Riddle or ATP walk in and get their seniority number at Delta? How has one distinguished themselves as a skilled aviator at that point?
You talk about failing to understand unity. APC is full of posts like yours that want to hang responsibility for the value of this career solely on senior guys who survived a much more selective process than our generation did.
In my opinion, it is you that fails to understand unity. True unity, unity of action that is necessary for the success of a labor union, is simple. It requires that one does not undercut his brother and do the same work for less money.

Regarding the second quote above. The value of this career wasn't decimated due to scope clauses. The value of this career was crushed because it got way too easy to get in the door, and thousands rushed in. A scope clause can not negate the laws of supply and demand. Is outsourcing a problem if there's nobody out there willing to undercut you and do the same work for less?
Guys want to point the finger at scope clauses, senior guys, etc., but never want to look in the mirror.
