Guys with messy backgrounds like Sully was referring to often have things like helicopters and gliders in their logbooks. They may have held a range of jobs like missionary flying or crop dusting. Plenty of situations there to have scratched or bent something. Add to that the flippant nature of their employment history and to an HR representative you look like a flake. Pilots from diverse backgrounds are too confident, too arrogant.
The messy background you refer to describes me perfectly except for the arrogant part. I know quite a few folks at the big airlines with similar backgrounds. You see I work at a legacy airline therefore I actually have first hand knowledge. Unlike yourself who lives, breaths and regurgitates urban aviation legends.

You are the one who brought up lawn mowing my friend and as usual completely exaggerated it's upside to try and prove your point.

BTW

I asked you some direct questions are you afraid to answer them?

Lets try again.

Skyhigh that's you.

1. Have you ever worked for a major/legacy airline?

2. Have you ever had an interview with a major/legacy airline?

3. If the answer to either of the above is no then why do you pretend to know so much about the process of getting hired at one and how do you know what it's like to work for one?

4. What neighborhood did you grow up in that had as a resident at least one example of every type airline pilot from extremely successful to flat ashed broke of which at least one worked for every airline that ever existed depending on your need for your agenda of the day?

Riddle me that?
