Isn't that how the VA came up with 36 months of eligibility for this new GI Bill? 9 months per academic year X 4 years of school = 36 months. I called the VA the other day to ask about how flight training is calculated but the person on the other end could only tell me that it's capped at $10,000/yr for public institutions or $17,500/yr for private institutions. She was absolutely no help and left me just as confused.
That is correct, you have 36 months but that is 9 months of school you go out of a calendar year for 4 years. I am sure you can do summer courses but you would use up the months given to you and in return you could finish college faster, not a bad idea since they don't pay BAH unless you are enrolled in and taking classes.
