Default Pilot Pay and Per Diem

I always thought of a per diem as a payment for time away from home (For instance when sleeping in a hotel room on a trip). But I recently read something that said you are paid per diem at the hourly rate from the time you leave your base (Say monday afternoon) and return to your base (Say Thursday afternoon). Does that mean that you would receive 96 hours of per diem, or is it just for time between flights?

Most pilot pay scales max out at 12 years on this website. Does that mean that if you stay with the same airline, in the same aircraft, in the same seat, and you surpass 12 years, does your pay still continue to go up?

What is international override pay? I have an educated guess, but I am not sure.
Thanks a lot
