Using sim time towards total time is not allowed. The simulator never left the ground so how can it be flight time? Total time does not include sim time.
My reference to "total time" was in the context of the ATP cert, ie the 1500 hours of total aeronautical experience.
Sim does not count towards total time in your logbook.
