There is serious discussion at the pentagon about relying more, not less, on the reserves as defense cuts get into the bone.

You might see some initial silliness with drills being canx the first year, but ultimately it's cheaper to use reserves for many missions especially those involving deployment. They don't have to pay us to hang around the drome between deployments...
