How do I get my drivers to work once I get linux? It seems when you look for drivers your options are either windows XP.Vista,or 7.
Can I still use firefox and other programs such as gimp (free photoshop) etc?
Im in.
Firefox, gimp, open office [free office] will run better as they're running in their 'native environment'.. That is they were written for linux.
Probably the better flavours are Ubuntu linux and Open SUSE linux. They both have agree and click installations and have most drivers pre installed. for printers and other peripherals.
You may well have to end up installing other drivers, but the system will prompt you and is set up to look for the right drivers in the right places.
