Looking at Delta's profits the last two quarters it seems that this is purely greed and lack of respect and or compassion for others. Many good people are adveresly affected by this knee jerk move to shut Comair down. I nearly puke every time I hear Richard Anderson's welcoming message when he talks about honesty and integrity. This totally blows for all at comair, and I wish you the best. The sad thing is, after they're done with you, who's next? Thanks Delta, and thanks Delta pilots. To say you can't help what management does, and that it's only business is a cop out. Enough of you voted for this contract in favor of selling out fellow pilots
So it's okay for mainline to take back flying, but not ok if they don't take the regional pilots too?

There's a misconception that someone owes a pilot something for a long career at a regional, but unfortunately, no one owes a pilot anything for a long regional career. The stagnation in the industry has pulled the regional model into a more expensive operation. Regionals were suppose to be cheap feed, with low costs, and low longevity. Even the likes of Comair were once a PFT-type crap wage operation. Today, airlines like Comair and Pinnacle have priced themselves out when in comparison to a new comer like GoJets and Compass. 10 years from now, the cycle will repeat when GoJets becomes expensive and a new regional comes in to replace the flying in a cheaper fashion. It's nothing personal, just business.
