Both are very good degrees. I have friends with both of them.
I never liked chemistry, but I always liked Chemical Engineering. For one, that is one of the more likely engineering jobs that you may be able to strike it rich. Two, it had the highest percentage of girls in engineering.
Computer programming would also be a good major. This may be a little more practical degree as a backup. You would more than likely be able to use this degree down the line if you were furloughed from an airline, at least probably more than the ChemE degree.
Choose whichever you like the best. Both are GREAT choices. I am used to hearing "help me pick between business and political science."
