As for orders, I saw an article a few days ago that said Eclipse already has 2,350 orders for their VLJ, which costs $1.3 million dollars.
The A700 is far from being certified and the company is going to be experiencing upcoming lay-offs. From what I hear the A500 is being discontinued as well.
Eclipse has it's issues but a much more viable product and much stronger company. Plus the aircraft is totally different than any other VLJ on the market, which is what makes it unique, not to mention the extremely low operation costs and acquisition costs. Adam A700 is $2.2 million without options or CPI-W, Eclipse is $1.52 without options or CPI-W, Mustang is $2.6 million with no options or CPI-W and the Phenom 100 is $3.0mil. The D-Jet only has one engine so who wants that?
Eclipse has close to 2,600 order with about 3/4 of those firm, the rest options.
Time will tell, they are really all good jets!
