This is better than it used to be. In 2002 the charter company I worked for leased a Lear 24 and put it on a 135 certificate out of St. Louis. I went through the training, took the checkride and flew our jet for a little while til the company went bust. Shortly thereafter I got a call from another company asking if I was available for contract work and that they wanted someone for 100 hours. I said sure, and was then informed where I could send my check for $10K.
I don't know what that company's aircraft looked like, but it sure had an expensive right seat in it.
