To link that in with going to fraternity parties and/or joining a fraternity, shows they were either not in a fraternity or ignorant to them. At the very least, it will do nothing more than provide you an avenue in which to mature yourself and give you contacts and friends for the rest of your life. If nothing else, it will give you a group of people that will watch your back in you do decide to partake in less than ethical activites and keep you out of trouble!
Take it or leave it, this is just advice from someone who joined a fraternity and made lifelong friends, most of whom are flying for varioius airlines currently. We all managed to have a great time in school and stay out of trouble... at least legal trouble
