Many automatically think the 757 life if better than the 737. Not so, especially if you are junior. The 737-800/900 pays the same as the 757-200/300 (for now). The junior 757 guys are flying all-night on 13 hour three day trips. You might do a lot better in the 737. Although the 737 pairings have been getting much worse. I can do 12 hour two-day transcons on the 737. I can get more days off and make more per month than when I was a 757 FO. I can hold any plane as a lineholder and I'm on the 737 for quality of life (pay is not that different either). It really depends on your seniority, but the 757 life is not that glamorous at "CAL".
