I am from the NYC metro area and have family in NYC I know Jamiaca is the only real bad place...I know Forest Hills is nice Far Rockaway Beach is nice good atmosphere kind of a break from city life. You can also try Long Island. Hope that helps congrats on the job

Obviously I chose these because of their close proximety to JFK, most of what I have heard is the Kew Gardens area is the place to be
