Everything everyone said above is true, so it depends on the individual to put it in perspective. When I first got hired here, I loved it for about 3 months. Great airplane, flying to all these countries I'd never been to. Then, it wore off and I started hating life. After a few months of being a complete miserable bastard at work, I decided that I had two choices: I could continue to spread negativity to my coworkers and to myself, or I could roll with the punches and actively work on keeping a positive attitude. No matter what anyone says, a positive attitude doesn't just appear; it's something that must be actively worked on.
Yes, Omni does stuff from time to time that annoys the crap out of me. Yes, I can whine with the best of them. At the end of the day though, I shrug it off and go to work. They laid it all out before I got hired, and I still showed up. Heck, that was even pre-contract when we all made $36,000/year and sat 24/6 short-call reserve. This CBA has a lot of holes, but at least those things are improved.
FWIW, I haven't been out more than 16 days in a month all year. Then again, I can usually bid to maximize my time at home.
