Lear 35 was a great jet to fly. I flew the C-21 which is the military version. Basically the same plane with a TACAN installed. Ours were very well equiped and included a nice FMS and an EHSI. They're quick, but not as quick as most people think. Something like .83 or.84 if I remember correctly. Where they bite most people is on takeoff where you can overspeed flaps and/or gear VERY easily if you are not careful. One of my favorite rules of thumb in aviation is that if it looks right, it'll fly right (may or may not be truth to that, but why throw away a good theory just because it's wrong?). The Lear has the Cessna easily beat in this department. You should go for the Lear based on cool factor alone.
