Default Citaion Encore VS Lear 35

I got offered 2 jobs one with an encore and the other flying a lear35, which one is a better plane, not company wise and jobe wise and QOL wise just for the plane , which is a better plane, just plane wise.
THANKS

I don't know much about the L35, but IIRC the Encore is slightly bigger/heavier. Its also slower. The lear has steam gauges while the Encore is glass cockpit.

The lear is probably more fun to fly, but I like the Encore too... (It's a lot more responsive than the CRJ I used to tool around in).

One is a porche with few comforts, the other is a VW Jetta... not so fast, but has nicer comforts.

One is called the Slowtation, the other has a reputation for tearing up the skies.

The Encore is almost certainly newer (only been in production for about 6 years).

If you don't have any jet experience, I might suggest the Encore. It's very easy to fly, and has very basic systems that are not a big step up for folks with only piston or light turboprop time.

This is actually a great question... I'm flying King Airs/UC-12s for the Navy and was thinking of using my VA benefits to help pay for a type rating (they pay 60%. I pay the other 40%).. I was considering either a Lear or Citation type. Along with which plane you'd recommend to PIN727, which type do you think will get more bang for the career in the long run? (I know the prefered for many is the 737, but I thought of getting one in an aircraft that may actually land me a job.. other recommendations are also appreciated).

Lear 35 was a great jet to fly. I flew the C-21 which is the military version. Basically the same plane with a TACAN installed. Ours were very well equiped and included a nice FMS and an EHSI. They're quick, but not as quick as most people think. Something like .83 or.84 if I remember correctly. Where they bite most people is on takeoff where you can overspeed flaps and/or gear VERY easily if you are not careful. One of my favorite rules of thumb in aviation is that if it looks right, it'll fly right (may or may not be truth to that, but why throw away a good theory just because it's wrong?). The Lear has the Cessna easily beat in this department. You should go for the Lear based on cool factor alone.

both planes are in great condition, , the lear is an 80's model and the encore is spankin new , lear has old instruments , encore has all the nice new toys , the encore fly's a bit more but that I like, both are for private owners, although the lear is in a 135 certificate, the encore is 91.

Schnides to answer you question on what type to get, I''ll go for the Citation type, , because it will ba a ce500 series and that will open many doors , cause it is good for multiple aircraft, hopefully I'll be in school by the end of this month.

Go for the Citation. More roomy inside, even with the slower speed you'll enjoy the ride more. And the Honeywell system is great... Less tricky to fly hot and high and you wont get a neck ache on long trips.

Default LR-35 vers Encore

I've flown both the Lear-35 (5000hr+) and the Encore (1400=). The lear is like flying a sports car and the Encore is like a Chevy. Lear being responsive and quick. You think about changing an altitude and you are already there.
the Encore is heavier and slower to respond. Lear 35s mto 18300# encore
16630#. Latter lears have a EFIS HSI vers encore Primus 1000. Encore is a very simple systems Lear has pullers, shakers, MACH over speed trim, must both yaw damps working and all elect trim systems ETC . Fun to fly but it WILL EAT YOUR LUNCH. The encore is simple and loves to roost at home.

FRIST TYPE .....ENCORE
