It's like those that do nothing but bash politicians, forgetting that anyone can run for city council, state senate etc., but would never actually do the job themselves because it is too much thankless work.
The real litmus is results. When using that as a benchmark, ALPA gets an F for the last decade, at least and that's for the professions as a whole. Every regional pilot could do better with their own leaner structure focused on their interests only. Even that fleabag magazine can't run itself properly as the Martins debacle demonstrated.
Dysfunctional from stem to stern.
