I'll respond to your sarcastic remark. I am on my third ATSG furlough. I am concerned for anybody who has to deal with being furloughed. That includes Capital guys.

As difficult as it is to be furloughed, at least I always knew that decisions were made based on what is considered to be a fair process, the seniority system. While it sucks to be the junior person, I knew it was a union job when I accepted it. That's just the way the system works. I also have the possibility to enjoy the benefits of seniority some day.

What concerns me is the possibility that the process is being manipulated by management. I don't think the managers have any personal grudge against me any more than I think they have a preference for Capital guys. They see that a Capital guy with a date of hire similar to mine will be at year 1, 2 or 3 on the pay scale and I am at year 12 on the pay scale. That's a difference of at least $19,000 per year. Extend that to the approximately 50 furloughed ATI guys and the savings is just under $1 million per year.

So ATSG is manipulating the system to keep the less expensive Capital guys while excluding the ABX/ATI guys. The problem is that it isn't fair.
If your a 12 year ATI pilot why are you comparing yourself to a 2 year capital guy
