Has anyone realized that 1/2 of the members of the ATI ALPA leadership team were hired in September and October of 2009, just a few months before the ABX guys started coming on in April 2010.
If ATSG continues with plans to consolidate by merging the new ATI with ABX next year, the approximately 75 ABX/ATI guys will maintain their ABX seniority numbers that mostly go back to 2,000 or earlier. So, if the ABX and ATI lists were merged by DOH, those ATI MEC leaders would suddenly drop below all of the ABX/ATI guys. Unless... Those guys are still furloughed. If the 59 or so furloughed ABX/ATI guys remain furloughed through the ABX ATI merger, but the Capital guys hired after October 2009 get recalled, those ATI MEC leaders get to at least maintain a cushion of the Capital guys hired after 2009. Also, they appointed an FO rep to the Seniority List Integration Committee who is at almost exactly the same place on the seniority list as they are.
It would seem that ATSG management and a substantial part of the ATI ALPA decision makers may have a shared interest in seeing that the furloughed ABX/ATI remain in the furlough pool.
This has been a very secretive process and there is a definite opportunity for a conflict of interest, not to mention a motive. If I was sitting at numbers 109, 111, or 114 on the ATI seniority list, I would not be thrilled to see 59 ABX guys come out of furlough just before a possible ABX, ATI merger. I hate to bring this up, but I think it should be considered.
