Unfortunately the regional airlines don't care if you leave, they know they can replace you very easily. There are thousands of young guys flight-instructing, flying cargo in C402s who would agree to any salary inorder to fly a jet. These kids won't fly a jet for free because of the stigma that comes with that, but short of that, they'd take anything. The regionals know that and the majors know.

If you are a senior pilot at a regional, you would actually be doing them a favor by leaving, they'd replace you with someone cheaper (junior)
