Mediators have great latitude and power to set schedules.
They don't like to waste time.
Mediators take into account many things: union elections, amendable dates of your contracts, TAs, other airlines amendable dates, merger activity elsewhere, arbitration, litigation, legislative and regulatory activity.

The NMB mediators do not like to waste time with those that have no situational awareness. Do not think for one minute that the universe revolves around Southern California. They have better things to do that babysit and handhold a bunch of emotional wannabe tough guys.

Get this contract in the bag and start working on the next one, or you'll regret it.
