The memos and speeches from our new President (who had been a Delta executive a month prior) specifically stated that the next big regional aircraft award would go to RAH unless Comair pilots voted to suspend the big 2005 pay step that was three months away (the 4th anniversary of Contract 2001, i.e. the Comair Strike Contract).
We were told this was an award for new CRJ/ERJ aircraft - we know Delta was not getting them.
And since we knew this guy had just come from running DCI, many of us believed him. TrashPilot wasn't the only naiive FO at the time.
