I know exactly what you are talking about. They killed an entire 35 year career. Personally, I don't ever care to see an airport or a hotel again. Even if Southwest came to my door with a job offer, I wouldn't take it.
Although I still don't have any employment, it is outstanding to be home every night. The wife loves it, the rabbits love it, I laugh when I see news reports of airport delays or weather problems.
I agree with you! I don't miss the industry at all. I am working for a non-union construction company and it is nice not p@ssing away 2% of my check to for nothing.
I proudly tossed my "swimsuit issue" of the latest ALPA magazine in the trash on my trip back from the mailbox! The unions are a large part of keeping me from returning to the industry. I want nothing to do with it!
