Well, most of our pilots are so sure that the deal that is on the table for Air Midwest will go through that they have already started studying for their next job or aircraft. With the great possibility of taking some huge cuts to EAS service next year, many think the end is near anyway for the once great regional (Air Midwest). JO has successfully gutted the operation and is now ready to sell off whats left.
We do lose contracts and pick up others but we are 2 cities in the hole if the close Hobbs, and it sounds like a done deal out in NM. I know I am tired of working crazy hours because they can't staff this place.
Today, we recieved a company email offering up to 1,500.00 bonus for bringing on a new hire and he / she staying for 2 years. 500 for training and 500 more for each year after that. Catch is they have to stay through training and those 2 years....as well as you have to stay to collect this money. I wonder how many ppl will be dumb enough to try and take advantage of this. I personally don't hate anyone enough to send them to the wolves.
They also waived the 50 bucks for the application and started paying for rooms during training. So for all you new guys thinking about trying it, This should prove just how bad things here really are. I think ppl are finally starting to understand that QOL is something that CANNOT be sacrificed...especially for the contract and pay we have. That is all for now.
Oh and with the new standing bid today.....the RJ upgrades remain at 2 years 3 months for ERJ and 3 years 5 months for CRJ. Is it worth it!!
