Because he can Kick an oval Pig skin 60 yards thru uprights accurately on a regular basis.
Because he can shoot a round ball thru a round hoop with great success.
Because he can drive a NASCAR around an OVAL track very fast.

Because the majority of those professional athletes are being paid for their unique talent to do the things you mentioned. Any monkey can be trained to fly an airplane given enough time, which brings us back to the fact that HR needs a way to weed through APPS.
