Another Billy story:
Working for TMA in '99 I called Billy (then CP) to submit my resignation after I received the UAL offer.
He asked me where I was going, presumably because Ryan had been busy poaching TMA A320 pilots that summer.
Me: I have an offer than I'm going to take
Him: Let me match it, I'll give you anything. We've lost too many pilots recently.
Me: I'm going to United
Him: (long silence) Congratulations, have fun! Ask them if you can get an earlier class date. You can go whenever you want so don't worry about giving notice---your seniority number there is more important.
