Default Uncle Carl

And as I remember Carl Ican-do-whatever-I-want sold the reservation system and pocketed the money himself.[/quote]

AMR, not Uncle Carl, sold Worldspan Resv. System for 400-450 million dollars (I don't remember if it was the former or latter) which was nearly 2/3 of the purchase price for TWA-750 million dollars. I will agree to respectfully disagree with you, but I do know that few of us could have or can still predict what will happen to any airline or it's future.

AMR told TWA to bankrupt itself so that they could jettison Uncle Carl's Karabu ticket agreement. His wife owned lowestfare.com, which is where he would sell his deeply discounted tickets and deny TWA to sell those same tickets at the prices that they deserved to be sold at. The upshot, when Carl Icahn was ejected from his claims to Karabu in bankruptcy court, lowestfare.com failed.

Who will be next for Uncle Carl ???
