That being the case the pilots, F/A's and all other TWA employees would have ended up at the same place if AMR had not bought those assets. Creditors would have divvied up all the material items. The ship could not sail in it’s current form and I'm sure the TWA MEC did what they thought was best under the circumstances. I wish they could have all been absorbed or better yet that TWA could have stood on it’s own once again. But this started out with “ ALPA sold us out”. I think otherwise. And as I remember Carl Ican-do-whatever-I-want sold the reservation system and pocketed the money himself.

I know I'm late to the party, but I applaud JB for it's choice to take a strong stance about the problem with the E190. Its nice for a change to see somebody stand strong and fix a problem instead of limping through till solutions are found.
Well done JB!

AMR, not Uncle Carl, sold Worldspan Resv. System for 400-450 million dollars (I don't remember if it was the former or latter) which was nearly 2/3 of the purchase price for TWA-750 million dollars. I will agree to respectfully disagree with you, but I do know that few of us could have or can still predict what will happen to any airline or it's future.
AMR told TWA to bankrupt itself so that they could jettison Uncle Carl's Karabu ticket agreement. His wife owned lowestfare.com, which is where he would sell his deeply discounted tickets and deny TWA to sell those same tickets at the prices that they deserved to be sold at. The upshot, when Carl Icahn was ejected from his claims to Karabu in bankruptcy court, lowestfare.com failed.
Who will be next for Uncle Carl ???

Thanks, I appreciate that. I am not with AA, But at United when twice UAL tried to buy USAir they cheered at USAir because they all thought that they were going to come over with date of hire and fly our trip to Hawaii , Asia and Europe. It was difficult for us to believe that they could think that they deserved to cut in line when their ship was sinking. There were two possible affects for a United pilot, a negative affect or un-affected. There was no positive affect for a United pilot in a combined United/USAir. The same is now true for an America West pilot. That some pilots at USAir are saved is GREAT just like those from TWA. It’s just that these mergers allowed the creditors to get a nickel more on the dollar than sell it in parts that allowed some employees to keep their jobs. I think that was the best we could hope for.
