Let's be accurate, Nash. 30 to 26, not 33 to 26. What you describe is not and never will be a B scale. There was a B scale but not what you point out.
Our B scales was when we had guys in the same 1st year making two different rates of pay. Some were making 30, some 26. That happened in 98. I wouldn't say that it was only to pay for captain raises as I was an FO then and my rate of pay was based on a captains, so when they got raises, I got raises. I was out of that 6-9 year slope problem though. Blame me and the other senior FO's that got raises then too if it makes you feel better. I didn't like the deal and voted no for it then, just as I did now on this deal. [Prince mode on] Maybe I'm just like my father, he's never satisifed <G> [Prince mode off]
What you describe is just a crappy deal, but not a b scale. The group that you mention did get a hosing, and now they get to be hosed again as they pay to undo the scale that they just lived through along with the rest of us that only saw cost of living raises. Wait until the guys that get to enjoy the added 3 years of our new 15 year pay scale get to blaming this years yes voters for the anguish that awaits them. Years 12-15 won't stay at the same rate forever ;-)
