I came across this forum and I am not even sure if this is an appropriate place to post this question but…
I have applied for Aviation Safety Inspector Air Carrier Maintenance back in November 2012 since then the posting has closed and not been re-opened, most likely due to the sequestration, furloughs ect… I did get in contact with the manager of the CMO I want to work at and he basically told me to keep in contact but they were on a hiring freeze at the time being.
There has not been a referral put out. I just wonder if I am getting my hopes up thinking that I may have a chance when the hiring freeze ends. I know the FAA gets their new year budget Sep 30 2013.
I just hear and see that most ASI seem to be older with 20+ years’ experience. I am still in my 20’s but I do have a bachelors’ in aviation science and 8 years’ experience as an A&P.
Can anyone give me any info on what their hiring experience has been like with the FAA?
Thanks
