For the sake of others, I found this https://dw.opm.gov/datastandards/ref...?d-5590585-p=5

I was thinking more like a DOD type of security clearance but this seems different. Kind of a weird numbering system but I am sure there's some logic behind it.

Safety inspectors receive a public trust background check. The DOD does them for the FAA and they get done in just a couple of months.

Default ASI interviews questions

I have an interview for an FAA air carrier ASI position. Has anyone gone thru the interview process that can shed some light on the process and questions. Thanks

If it’s anything like the GA position, practically nothing to do with aviation.

Workplace conflict resolution, time management, are you familiar with Microsoft Word?

The interview is about working in an office environment. 10 questions with 1 hour to answer all of them. Practice the STAR method of answering questions. Situation/Task Action Result.

If you get a tentative offer of employment they'll bring you to OKC where you'll get to show off your aeronautical knowledge and flying skills with a private pilot level oral exam and then 90 minutes in a B737 sim doing the same maneuvers as a proficiency check.

Thanks very much for that information. I spoke with the DFW CMO director who did a very short application check. Fortunately for me I can skip the check ride since my last CLOE will have been within 11 months. So hopefully just interview, references check, background check and maybe an CO. Still probably several months in the making...

Hey wondering if you have an update on how your process has been? How long does it take after the 10-question Interview to hear back? What remaining steps are left after that? Just trying to get an idea of how long the whole process takes?

New Flight Oversight ASI positions:

Basically an OPS ASI who doesn't fly. Removes the 2nd Class Medical and current CFI/CFII/MEI requirement.
