Lag - maybe I'm confused but I thought all the FOs getting POP bid to relieve excess on the big excess bid a few years ago - they bid HKG CA and the CBA says a pilot cannot be excesses out of an FDA but those FOs were in fact owed POP...and most still get it. Did the settlement change any if that? The 727 CA that bids HKG CA should get awarded that, will not cause an excess from HKG and he most likely will not go unless A LOT of new HKG CA positions are created.
I think the guys that got the POP were awarded it because they were senior to the junior Capt and there were openings at HKG. For example; 30 guys bid it for 2 slots, the 2 senior guys got it and the other 28 get POP. If there are no opening not even an excess guy can be awarded, unless the company wants. I could be wrong.
