I'm not so sure. At one time Hong Kong had about 64 Captains listed in the bid pack. I don't remember how many were awarded on the last vacancy bid but the number must be around that number. Due to retirements, injuries, sick, terminations, people opting to move back without a bid, etc. I count about 53 (or so) Captains will be operating in the near future. Can't the company restaff the base up to the number in the last vacancy bid by awarding secondaries? If thats the case, then there is probably room for at least 10-12 without posting a vacancy bid. With the Manilla standby going away it looks like that might be enough to cover Europe (or at least some of it) as they indicated in the FCIF. Anyway, just a thought.....
