I'd rather have a C- student who is an awesome pilot than a washed up geezer in a double breasted coat who can't talk on the radio, asks for 5 wind checks on final, deviates around puffy clouds on the downwind (yet punches TRW+ enroute because he can't use radar properly), then lectures everyone how superior he is.
