I am a private pilot working on my IFR and I love foreflight unless doing hardcore IFR flight the regular version works perfectly. And if you have a garmin 430 the regular version will do everything you need and then some! I have used both and in my opinion foreflight is more user friendly and allows me to access my information easier and now it even allows you to download maps and go do other things on the I pad while they still load in the background. Foreflight even allows you to file and brief flight plans. I recommend getting the iPad with cellular then cancel your subscription to Verizon, AT&T etc because those iPads come with a GPS built in so no need for another accessory to plug or hook up that drains battery and clutters cockpit.
