I think SkyWest will have to improve that first year pay or offer some kind of bonus to attract the amount of applicants they are going to need in the coming months.

If they do, Republic and Eagle, etc will have a big problem on their hands.

SKW might prefer applicants who take a longer view, rather than getting baited into years of suck by a mere $5K...an sum of money which a senior major airline CA can make by picking up a 2-3 day international out-and-back.

But if the labor market does get tight everybody will have to do something to attract ATP's now that the 300-hour option is finally off the table.
