This is a TWA800 thread and I shall do some research on the various claims poised for and against the government position.
I did not ask for some research on the various claims for or against the gov't position. I asked for YOUR ideas on the questions posed.
I did fly with a Pilot who was a United 747 mechanic and when this event happened he was of the opinion that it was highly unlikely that a wire short would cause the fuel tank to explode.
I wonder if there were any -747 mechanics, or anyone smart on the various systems, involved in the NTSB investigation
