I know, there is no salacious video footage of this crash to view, no celebrities involved, etc. There is surely as much or more to learn from this disaster as the 777 hard landing.
That's the way it goes. Any many dozens were killed in a rail explosion in Canada, and many dozens were killed in landslides in China, etc. But the front page is gonna be Asiana and Zimmerman. For most Americans, Alaska might as well be Pakistan. Riding heavy aircraft into SFO is something most people can relate to, so they can put it in context and be suitably horrified and glued to the set.
