FWIW, the concept of a "choice" is specifically prohibited by both the TPA and ALPA merger policy.
TPA - All furloughed UA pilots will only be integrated based upon their position on the pre-merger UA list. Not only was this a topic in the hearings but both sides stipulated that this is the case since it's black-and-white in the TPA.
Merger Policy - The pre-merger lists can
not be re-ordered, which is what would happen if a junior UA pilot working at sCAL is placed above a more senior furloughed UA pilot that did not take the CAL job offer.
